ABF Classes – Fall 2019

September 15, 2019 - December 29, 2019

We are offering two exciting ABF classes in the Fall of 2019.
Here are the descriptions of the classes:

Blessed Are the Peacemakers

Facilitated by: Kathleen Heger – Room 204

Using the Bible and the book, “The Peacemaker,” we will look at some of the principles involved when trying to achieve peace in the midst of conflict.  We will also study how God can be glorified in the midst of conflict as we examine our own hearts and intentionally pursue reconciliation with others.

Throughout the class time on Sunday mornings, discussion will also focus on the concept of grace, which will increase our understanding of how Christ’s actions (The Cross) have served to reconcile us to his Father and in turn provide us with increased context of how we are to pursue and extend peace to others.

About Kathleen Heger
Kathleen Heger graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in ‘Theology and Missions’, and then went on to earn a Masters degree in ‘Conflict Analysis and Engagement’.  Kathleen has successfully completed mediator training and is state-certified.  She has also taught seminars on conflict resolution in Christian culture.  Her passion is to help people understand the principles of truth, grace, and communication in the conflicts that arise in peoples lives.  Kathleen is the ABF coordinator at BrightonAG.

Dead to Self – Alive to Christ

Facilitated by: Gerald & Rochelle Haug – Room 207

Join us on Sunday mornings as we explore Ephesians 4:22-24 and discuss what it means to put off (or die to) our old nature so that we are alive in Christ.  Throughout this class we will be challenged to confront (put to death) areas of our lives where our sinful nature is prohibiting growth in Christ and what He desires our lives to become.

As we journey together we will also ask the Holy Spirit to help us to cultivate spiritual disciplines that will grow our faith and increase our Christlikeness so that transformation takes place within our lives so that we are the new creations He desires us to be.
